07 January Happy New Years!!!!A bit late I know but can you blame me? I just had the privilage of perusing my HS yearbook and realizing that I'm so glad those years are over. If ever I looked upon my High School experience as a very positive one, I am certain now that I was wrong. I mean, people speak of looking at their yearbooks and being filled with warm fuzzy feelings brought on by memories friends, teachers, organizations etc. While remebering those things did bring me some pleasure, I soon become overwhelmed with disgust and anger...? No, I wasn't overwhelmed. And maybe I wasn't exactly angry. But, let's just say a lot of angst resurfaced all of a sudden. A lot of it involved the whole yearbook process and dealing with the adviser and the staff and deadlines and being a good leader as the lit-editor. Then other things began to surface as I flipped through the pages andwas remined of all of the teachers and students each of whom once dominated those 4 years of my life in some way or the other. Maybe I'm just annoyed because I see myself as a very different person now. I'm much more aware of things that are going on around me in a way I just wasn't in High School. I'm Also, much more aware of myself. I'm irritated because I see myself now as different from the individual I was in HS yet still the same and I don't mean this in a positive way. If you don't understand, neither do I and I won't bother explaining it any further. My days have been occupied with eating, sleeping, sleeping, baking, reading, FFX-2, Lord of The Rings, Church, and besides that venturing outdoors every "one in a blue moon." Now there's something that makes sense. 00:15
03 January No, I'm just being melodramatic.09:19
my life is over 09:19
I'll keep this short. I just can't believe how bad my grades were. I didn't fail anything but they may as well just send me to Hades. 09:16
21 December I ended up typing a response after reading this article. I'm venting, I know. And over something somewhat trivial too but I feel like adding an entrty about something so:Disgusting. I just read the article myself. Honestly, it's the most ignorant, useless article I have come across regarding the film. And we've been here before. A person who hasn't seen any of the films could make the same [weak] argument that the trilogy only exist to showcase "kewl FX" that geeky 12-16 year-old boys could drool over. Then she makes it seems as if most women endured the film because of Viggo (idiotic) or becuase they were dragged by their boyfriends ( 2X idiotic). It just pisses me off because there are many women who enjoy the trilogy just as much and even more than men and it has nothing to do with Viggo or Orlando (gasp) or being geeky ( gasp X2). Unless geeks are people that like excellent movies. This article serves no purpose and just completely downplays all that Peter Jackson has accomplished by creating this trilogy. We were all fortunate to be able to witness the creation of a classic because of these films. This woman doesn't even seem to acknowledge the films at all. Rather, it's as if she just felt like voicing her grievances over films that are either fantasy, sci-fi or just feature computer-generated images and somehow ROTK got dragged in as the scapegoat. For some reason she begins comparing the films to Star Wars... why is this even necessary? In reality, many would agree that ROTK, like the two films before it, is deserving of the accolade it has received. I know some people would like to think of it as some big-shot action Sci-Fi Hollywood flick... To be honest, the film stars many actors who were either unknown or just B/C-list before film 1 was released... Not to mention, who the heck knew who Peter Jackson was? The most obnoxious thing about the article (well...everything about it is obnoxious) is that the headline attempts to galvanize members of the female sex to take some sort of stance against what she believes to be FX-driven films like ROTK. As if she wrote this article to voice the views of women all over the Nation. She certainly doesn't represent me in that case. If anything, this article just seems to perpetuate the same old stupid stereotypes concerning men vs. women; as if all women would rather stick to viewing films like The Hours or Cold Mountain or Mona Lisa Smile and leave all the LOTRs and Star Wars and The Matrices to geeky men and boys of all ages. I feel tainted by the ignorance and uncalled for negativity this strumpet conjures up in her article. Excuse me, I'm just pissed... People who like ROTK are just male geeks per say, they're just people who enjoy quality films. I had this reaction a few weeks ago, some woman refused to rent TTT after her friend recommended it because "she didn't like those kinds of movies." I was tempted to ask, "You mean you just don’t like good movies?" It's the same old fantasy vs. classic drama nonsense and I wish people for once could get over their preconceived notions about film genres. A movie utilizes special effects and therefore it is just for men, has no sentiment, and cannot be taken seriously as an Oscar contender? Come on. How would people react if I said, “I didn’t like the hours because Nicole Kidman’s artificial nose eclipsed any chances of character and emotional development.” 22:50
10 December It takes a lot of courage to admit you need help. So I need help. There. This is what I wrote in my Chem notebook just now (final is Friday): "Chapter 8.... shit shit shit shit !!!"Oh well. It's gratuitous Leo screen cap time! What is it about him? He tries hard and always means well but more often than not, still comes across as a helpless dolt. Much like myself. I guess I can relate XD He's so sweet and good natured and if I was a certain someone, I would have said yes ~_~ (not like we don't know it will happen by the end anyway ::imagination::) 00:26
09 December Long day >_< Twas the beginning of the "study period" too. Let's see, I'm going home next week but first I must get 4 finals out of the way ::sigh::I just wan't to get it all over and done with already. I don't feel like talking about dull classes and exams on such. Instead I will talk about something I've neglected for some time now; anime. Yes. I'm watching right now Gilgamesh, Scrapped Princess, and Tsukihime. All are very good. Of course, I must add that Scrapped Princess is teh best series I've watched in a very long time. Everything comes together so nicely; characters, plot, music ...and some of the most poignant and humorous scenes ( I love Leo <3). I also received my copy of the Xenosaga Official Designs Materials but cant really make any serious attempts to translate a few passages till I get home. Till next time -_- 00:27
05 December My goodness. I never would have thought I'd find a Dido fan listing of this nature. I love this song and all but...come on. What's next, fanlistings for favorite toilet paper brands and/or TV commercials? The potential is there, Just look at this. I think by now there are so many fanlistings on so many topics that perhaps someone should go ahead and write a dissertation on fanlisting craze.19:05
